ABOUT
Briana Johnson, born in Atlanta, discovered her deafness at age four, yet her mother’s unwavering support inspired her stage name “Beautiful.” Drawing strength from her mother’s affirmation that she was made in God’s image and could achieve anything, Briana found her passion in a gospel group called “Dear Children,” where she contributed to choreography.
Facing bullying in school, she channeled her energy into academic and extracurricular excellence, eventually earning a BA in Government/Law from Gallaudet University. Crowned Miss Black Deaf America 2009-2011, she champions deaf culture. In 2018, she founded Signdance, a dance company advocating deaf awareness, promoting unity between the hearing and deaf communities.
